— Practice your bow hold before practicing this exercise —

 

Keep thumb bent  •  Relax and arch all fingers  • Rest fingers on the bow (Don't grip.)

Pronate you forearm to create slight pressure • Hinge at your elbow to bow • Use short strokes in the middle of the bow

Once you have this memorized, watch in a mirror to make sure you're bowing with straight yaw.
